Transfer Windows - Disappointment?

4 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses is not the dream start we all thought we would have after last season's fantastic displays. But eight games in 10 points lost, even though it's early doors it's time to start thinking about what has went wrong. Liverpool fans can't go through a repeat of the 2009/10 season when we followed up a second place finish the year before in 7th place and we lost Rafael Benitez, and then a series of 7 and 8th place finishes followed. So, looking at the signings we have made this summer and looking back at all the signings made by Rodgers since his appointment. It becomes obvious that recruitment is not Rodgers' strong suit.

2012 Summer

Fabio Borini - £10m - 2 Goals in 23 Appearences. 3/10

Joe Allen - £15m - Started poorly (Everton miss most noticably) but seems to be improving. 6/10

Oussama Assaidi - £2.4m - Never really got a chance to show what he's worth, making you question
why he was even bought in the first place. 2/10

Nuri Sahin - Loan - Player I was personally excited about especially considering we beat Arsenal to his signing, but being played out of position resulted in his loan being terminated. With no significant impact in matches. 2/10

2012 Winter

Daniel Sturridge - £12m - The best signing that Rodgers has made, now being the only forward who knows how to score there is no-one I love up front for Liverpool more than Sturridge. 10/10

Philippe Coutinho - £8.5m - Started life in a Liverpool shirt fantastically and quickly became a fan favourite with his pin point passing and quick feet. However over the last season he has struggled to perform consistently. 8/10

2013 Summer

Luis Alberto - £6.8m - Only a handful of appearances but is only young and will be a first team player for Malaga this season. 5/10

Iago Aspas - £7m - No words can describe how disgraceful this guy was in front of goal, with only the one goal to his name against Oldham. It makes me sick to this day that he was allowed to wear the number 9 shirt. 1/10

Simon Mignolet - £11m - Had an incredible debut and is no doubt a great shot stopper, its too bad that the rest of his game is shocking. 4/10

Kolo Toure - Free - Made a name for himself with that pass that cost us the win against West Brom and was a major disappointment despite being impressive for both Arsenal and Man City. 3/10

Tiago Ilori - £7m - Hasn't played much but is only young and broke Ronaldo's 30m sprint record at Sporting Lisbon, give him a few seasons and I think Ilori is going to be incredible. 6/10

Mamadou Sakho - £18m - The 'marquee' signing but never produced when he was chosen, always looks suspect when he is on the ball and its not his fault he has just not adapted to the play Rodgers asks of him, I don't think he is going to be here long. 5/10

Aly Cissokho - Loan - No comment. 0/10

Victor Moses - Loan - Had a good debut scoring against Swansea, should have stayed at Chelsea. 1/10

2013 Winter

One of the most disappointing transfer windows in recent years, we all thought that we was going to be signing Mohammed Salah from FC Basel. The deal had been negotiated for months all was need for the window to come, put pen to paper and sign him up. Ian Ayre decided to squeeze every last penny out of the deal he could, then of course Chelsea come and pay the fee we said we would have payed to begin with and he signed for them. Then there was Konoplyanka that went to the wire on deadline day, we all thought we was finally going to sign a winger and then of course the deal never went through and we lost another player. Same old story.

2014 Summer

Rickie Lambert - £4m - The signing of Lambert was made out like a fairytale, a scouser playing for his boyhood club after being released by them when he was 15 years-old. But as expected he has flopped massively since his move and still awaiting a goal. Yeah he is excellent in dead ball situations but when is he ever going to get the chance to have a go? Doesn't suit the Liverpool way of playing football waste of money. 2/10

Adam Lallana - £23m - Has played well since his move and his goal against West Brom was a great way to get off the mark. Still personally think we over payed but I think he will become a key player this season. 8/10

Emre Can - £10m - Young player with Champions League experience, and he is a brute. The perfect holding midfielder we have been looking for, Due to his age I think it will take a couple of years until he is the main holding midfielder, but he has loads of potential. 6/10

Lazar Markovic - £20m - Young fast player with great potential, he also has European football experience and I think once he gets settled he will become an excellent player. This season his role will be to come and use his pace against fatigued opposition, but I think after a season or two everyone is going to see how good he is. 7/10

Dejan Lovren - £20m - Was seen as the defensive leader to sort out an embarrasing defense, but as it stands its looking as his addition has weakened the defense. He just looks like he hasn't got a clue what he is doing, and I haven't got a clue either. Overpriced, over rated, pathetic. 2/10

Divock Origi - £10m - Broke onto the scene at last summers world cup and has been on fire for Lille this season, if Balotelli keeps this up I think we would be better off canceling Origi's loan and having him lead the line with Sturridge. Big potential. 7/10

Alberto Moreno - £12m - Probably the best out of a bad situation and for a good deal. This deal was thought to be dead in the water as the saga dragged on but the deal was finally reached and here we are. Fantastic solo goal against Tottenham and will be the starting left back for many years to come. 8/10

Javier Manquillo - Loan - Good young player, plays it safe, still got a lot to prove. 5/10

Mario Balotelli - £16m - Panic buy, never moves and never looks like scoring. He needs to sort his head out if he wants to win the fans over. 1/10
