Lallana celebrating his first Liverpool goal
Finally, after a winless September,
Liverpool have now finally picked up 3 points in the premier league. It wasn't the most convincing performance and didn't come close to the 4-1 win we mastered last season at Anfield. But a win is a win and a long overdue one. Good to see the promising start of
Adam Lallana continue with slotting an excellent one-two with Henderson past Foster for his first goal of the season. The celebration from him is just what Liverpool fans like to see from all the players never mind a summer arrival. Passion. It's all we ask for as Liverpool fans, however you do get the 'nothing but win' fans that criticize every player after every game but that's just the same with all the big teams. Except from unlike Chelsea and Man City fans we don't switch support from either team after the other gets beat.

Waste of money?
Anyway the result is what we was waiting for, but the performance once again was lack-luster as the passing game never resulted in a finished product. Rickie Lambert, you would think for a scouser lucky enough to play for the team he has supported his entire life, a first premier league start at Anfield would be the chance you would grasp with two hands after the disappointing performance at Middlesborough. But once again, he is not showing the fans anything to silence his critics as that is now
8 appearances without a goal. What happened to the form that got him 13 goals for Southampton last season, a good tally especially for a player that was signed to come off the bench and offer something different when the original plan falters. Obviously fans wasn't too excited when it was announced that a
fee of £8m (£4m + add ons) for a 32 year-old striker. He just isn't cutting it and you can't help feel sorry for him as it is every Liverpool fans dream to pull on the red shirt and run out in front of the Anfield faithful It's not like he hasn't had his chances with the one against West Brom one of the day most annoying, incredible pass through the middle of the park from Manquillo and Lambert finds himself with only the keeper to beat (who was off his line to begin with) he could have placed the ball over the keeper's head and started his account but instead seen his effort palmed away from the experienced keeper.

Embarrassing mistake
Simon Mignolet. Will he ever improve and show that the £11m fee spent on him was well spent? In all fairness it would be wrong to blame him for the inability to once again keep another clean sheet as
the players at fault was Manquillo and Lovren. There was no logical reason for Manquillo to misplace a very simple short pass but it goes behind and West Brom break only to Lovren to bring down Saido Berahino even though he was running into the path of Skrtel anyway. But that wasn't the biggest problem, I can't contemplate what went through
Michael Oliver's head when a challenge that was blatantly on the edge of the box was given as a penalty. Once again the referee's get one over on us thought this would stop with Howard Webb's retirement but I guess it's just a Liverpool voodoo that will never cease to plague our season's. On the bright side the three points was gained through
Jordan Henderson slotting the ball across the face of the goal and into the corner of the net to add to his assist; and now Liverpool can take to the international break coming off a vital win and hopefully this win can be a springboard to kick off a run of great results.
